Slingshot’s classification varies by state. More than 40 states classify Slingshot as an autocycle which only requires a driver’s license. Other states classify Slingshot as a motorcycle, which requires a motorcycle endorsement.
Helmet laws vary from state to state depending on Slingshot classification. Slingshot recommends that all passengers and drivers wear a DOT approved full face helmet.
